Cabin in the Woods
Learning Objective
This project presents an opportunity to deepen my understanding of the software while simultaneously enhancing my 3D modeling skills. I aim to refine my environment-building skills, focusing on creating immersive and detailed scenes.
Additionally, I am eager to improve my modelling techniques, particularly in achieving finer details, and to expand my knowledge of texturing workflows in both Maya and Unreal Engine. Through this project, I hope to strengthen my technical proficiency and artistic sensibilities, allowing me to produce more polished and realistic 3D assets and environments.

Mind – Mapping
I spent some time brainstorming and created a mind map to explore different possibilities for my scene, including the season, lighting, time of day, and the story behind it. This process helped me clarify the direction I wanted to take and allowed me to ideate the scene more fully.

Mood-board
I want to create a calm and peaceful scene set deep in the woods, lit by a beautiful sunset, either during a quiet winter evening or a warm summer night. My goal is to give the scene a cozy and relaxing feeling, while adding a touch of magic around the cabin to make it feel special and inviting. I was inspired by the safehouses often shown in movies, which are usually hidden away in quiet, scenic locations like this, offering comfort, warmth, and a sense of escape from the outside world.

Mood-board (Forest)
I want the plants and trees surrounding the cabin to look different from the rest of the forest, giving the area a subtle, magical feeling.

Reference Board
Few reference images that represent the style and look I want to achieve for my cabin.

This project includes assets from BlenderKit, credited to their respective creators. These assets are used solely for representation and mock-up purposes.
These are preliminary interior mock-ups produced in Blender to explore the cabin’s design, lighting, and atmosphere. They act as concept previews, while the final, fully realised interior environment will be created in Unreal Engine.
